Add pages to a PDF
Merging puts one document after another. This puts pages inside the one you already have: a signature sheet after the contract, an appendix in the middle of a report, an empty page between two chapters so the next one starts on the right side of the paper. Choose empty pages and say how many, or add a second PDF and drop the whole of it in. Either way you name the page it goes after, counted in the document as it arrives, so the number you read off the original is the number to type. Empty pages take the size of the page they follow, which is what keeps them on the same sheet when the document is printed. The work happens in your browser: the files are never uploaded and nothing is re-encoded, so every page you already had comes out exactly as it went in.

- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The pages are added in your browser, so neither document leaves your device.
- How do I add pages to the very front?
- Set the insertion point to 0. The new pages go before the first page of the document.
- What size are the empty pages?
- The size of the page they follow, so a blank page added to a legal-sized document is legal-sized too. At the start of a document it takes the first page's size.
- Can I add only some pages of the second PDF?
- Not here: the whole of it goes in. Take the pages you want with Extract pages first, then add the result.
- How is this different from merging?
- Merging joins documents end to end. This one opens a document and puts pages inside it, at a point you choose.
