Crop a PDF
Scans come with an inch of grey around the page, slide decks print with borders nobody wants, and a document made for A4 looks lost on a phone with all that white space around it. Cropping trims the edges away. Type how much to take off the top, right, bottom and left in millimetres, and the outline on the first page shows what will be kept before anything happens. The work runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded, and it is instant even on a long document: cropping changes the area a reader displays rather than redrawing the pages, so no text is reflowed and no image is re-encoded. Pages that were scanned sideways are handled the way you see them — the top edge on your screen is the edge that gets trimmed, whichever way the page is stored.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
- Does cropping delete what is outside the edges?
- No, and this matters. A PDF crop changes the area that readers show and printers print; the content outside it is still in the file and can be recovered. To remove something for good, take it out before the PDF is made.
- Can I crop only some pages?
- Yes. Leave the pages field empty to crop everything, or enter pages like 2 or 4-9.
- Why is the file the same size afterwards?
- Because nothing was thrown away. Cropping is a change to two numbers per page, not a rewrite, which is also why it is instant on a document of hundreds of pages.
- What happens to a page that is stored sideways?
- The edges are taken the way you see them. A page carrying a rotation is trimmed on the edge that appears at the top on your screen, not the one that is stored as the top.
- Can I crop each page differently?
- Not in one pass. Run the tool once for each set of pages that needs its own margins, using the pages field to pick them out.
