Convert Excel to PDF

A spreadsheet is a grid that goes on until the data stops, and a page is a fixed rectangle, so converting one into the other always involves a decision about where to cut. This tool converts your XLSX with LibreOffice, which uses the print settings already stored in the workbook: the print area if you set one, the page orientation, the scaling, and any rows you marked to repeat at the top of each page. If you have never opened the print preview in Excel, it is worth doing before converting, because whatever you see there is what you will get here. Formulas are converted to the values they currently show, which is usually the point of sending a spreadsheet as a PDF. The work runs on our servers in an isolated container, and both files are deleted within two hours.

How it works

  1. Check your print area

The conversion follows the workbook's own print settings. What Excel's print preview shows is what the PDF will contain.

  2. Upload the spreadsheet

Drag the XLSX onto the page or use the file picker. The upload goes straight to storage, not through our API.

  3. Download the PDF

One page per printed page, in the order the workbook defines.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my table split across pages oddly?
Because the workbook says so. The conversion honours the print area, orientation and scaling stored in the file, so the fix is to set those in Excel and convert again.
Are all the sheets included?
Yes, every sheet with content is converted, in the order they appear in the workbook. Hidden sheets are not.
What happens to my formulas?
They become the values they currently display. A PDF has no way to recalculate, so what is frozen is the result rather than the expression behind it.
How long do you keep my spreadsheet?
Your upload and the PDF are both deleted within two hours of the job finishing. The conversion happens in a container with no internet access.
