Frequently asked questions
- Will my layout survive?
- Usually, and closely. Tables, images, headers, footers and page numbers all convert. The one thing that can shift is a document built around a font we do not have, because LibreOffice has to substitute something with different letter widths.
- Can I convert the old .doc format?
- Not here. This tool takes DOCX, the format Word has written by default since 2007. Open an older .doc in Word or LibreOffice and save it as DOCX first.
- Is the text still selectable afterwards?
- Yes. The document is converted rather than photographed, so every word stays as text: searchable, copyable and readable by a screen reader.
- How long do you keep my document?
- Your upload and the PDF are both deleted within two hours of the job finishing. The conversion happens in a container with no internet access, and nothing is kept beyond that.
